The conference has been held internationally for the last 12 years
What was the inspiration to start it?
Science communication professionals across Europe were looking for a dynamic platform where they could exchange best practice, visions and challenges around science festivals and science-society dialogues. They founded this international alliance to foster new ideas and creative formats joining research and innovation with societies.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
Inspiring talks, interactive workshops, co-creative sessions and lots of debates around the future of science communication and public engagement.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
New insights into science society dialogues across Europe, new professional networks in the fields of science engagement and science communication.
Who will be speaking?
Keynotes will be given by Dr. Niall Smith, Head of Research at CIT and Head of CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory, on Art and Astronomy; Margie McCarthy, Head of Education and Engagement at SFI, on Why Expertise and Impact is Important for Science Communications; and Prof. Dietram Scheufele, Wisconsin-Madison, USA on how Dissonance can be good – Why our new inability to disagree makes engagement so difficult.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Be curious to meet new people, be open to new innovation models, be active in contributing to dialogues and co-creation sessions.
