Five Finalists Battle For FutureScope ONE2WATCH 2020

FutureScope, Ireland’s number one business innovation event, today revealed the identity of the finalists that will compete in the pitch battle to be crowned the FutureScope One2Watch 2020.

FutureScope, which will take place on 1st April 2020 at the Convention Centre Dublin, explores the implications of emerging technologies and how they will shape the business opportunities of the future, featuring keynotes and multiple panel discussions exploring the challenges and opportunities arising from IoT, smart cities, robotics, 5G, data analytics, VR/AR, artificial intelligence and more.

FutureScope takes a deep dive into how disruption and innovation are impacting key sectors and, in 2020, it will dedicate stages to connectivity, health, security, artificial intelligence, future business and the implications of climate change.

Five Finalists Battle For FutureScope ONE2WATCH 2020

The One2Watch competition seeks to find Ireland’s most scalable business idea and award the winning company with a prize worth €10k, including a platform to support its growth. The five finalists will pitch against each other on stage at FutureScope on Wednesday 1st April at the Convention Centre Dublin.

The FutureScope One2Watch 2020 is sponsored by OBH Partners, the Dublin based law firm.

The 2020 One2Watch finalists are:

SymPhysis Medical: SymPhysis Medical have developed a patient-centric technology to treat fluid build-up in the body as a result of cancer or chronic disease. Their first drainage technology, called RelEase, will provide patients with unparalleled independence and quality of life when compared to current solutions.

Marker Content: An online article library supplying businesses with marketing fuel. Marker Content is launching a rich online library of over 200,000 high quality, searchable, tagged, formatted, indexed and copyright free articles.

Overcast HQ:  Providing video content as a service platform. Overcast’s API-first cloud video platform is designed for enterprise organisations to make video creation, management, distribution and storage both faster and simpler.

Hygiene Audits:  Hygiene Audits provides a unique software solution that helps Nursing Homes improve hygiene practices, track and trace risks and measure Infection Prevention and Control compliance.

AudioSourceRE: Developing cutting edge software that demixes music and sound. AudioSourceRE’s technology is transforming audio creativity and manipulation and has been described as “Photoshop for music and sound”.

The company that can best demonstrate the market need and scalability of their product to our panel of judges at FutureScope will be crowned the One2Watch 2020 winner.

This year’s judging panel will include Teri Smith, Enterprise Ireland; Mary McSweeney, Dublin City Council; Orlaith O’Brien, OBH Partners; Richard Watson, DBIC Ventures and Marc Lowry, Smith & Williamson.

FutureScope One2Watch is organised by Dublin BIC and supported by Dublin law firm, OBH Partners. The prize includes €2.5k in cash, a place on the Dublin BIC Investor Ready Programme, office space at Space@DublinBIC as well as expert legal consultancy from OBH Partners.

One2Watch has been proven as an effective platform for growth with finalists from the last three years raising a combined total of €12 million since getting to the final of the competition at FutureScope.

Conor Carmody, Dublin BIC Investor-Ready Programme Manager said: “The quality of the applications grows year on year since One2Watch was launched in 2017, which shows us it remains vital that FutureScope offers a platform to support start-ups who are developing disruptive business opportunities here in Ireland”.

With over 120 applications for FutureScope’s One2Watch a number of factors came into play when deciding the final five spots including, market size, innovation and potential to scale. Not an easy task as Heidi Corr one of the reviewing judges commented ‘’With the five finalist we are seeing the application of emerging technologies across multiple business sectors, all of which could achieve global scale. With strong value propositions and a high level of innovation and disruption demonstrated by the finalists, I am very excited to see who will be crowned FutureScope’s One2Watch 2020 on April 1st’’.
